3 cool and non-traditional Venues on the Las Vegas Strip

Sometimes it is easy to get the impression that Las Vegas weddings are only quickie drive through chapels. But as the wedding capital of the world there are so many more options then what you see at surface level when searching the internet.

There is a venue and location for everyone to fit your wants and desires. In this post I am going to share some of my favorite venues for anyone looking for an alternative to the classic bright and airy locations. This isn't your mother's church wedding. If you like a more sophisticated and eclectic style, prefer darker interiors, or like the alternative rock and roll vibe, these are worth your time and attention. One we photographed, the other we toured for our own wedding and absolutely loved!

THE FOUNDATION ROOM & HOUSE OF BLUES AT MANDALAY BAY

The Foundation Room and House of Blues are run by the same company at the same hotel, Live Nation. So I decided to just include them as one entry even though they are two separate event spaces with two different purposes day to day.

Starting with The Foundation Room which sits at the top of the Mandalay Bay on the 63rd floor. First things first... The VIEW. It has a wonderful open air patio, and being the last major hotel on the South end of the Strip you get to look straight down the boulevard to see the dazing lights of the city. But this is not it's only redeeming quality. The decor in this place is really interesting and unique. It's furnished with art and artifacts from all across India and Asia giving it exotic charm. The rooms have red walls, dark wooden doors, detailed pillars, and colorful carpets throughout. When inside this venue you feel like you have been transported somewhere far from Vegas and very magical.

The House of Blues is a classic Vegas music venue and restaurant located on the casino floor. The courtyard venue features a large tree giving it an outdoor rustic and whimsical feel, which is a great option if you want an outdoor summer wedding but do not want to deal with the extreme Vegas heat. All the venues feature a similar vibe really focusing on music and art. Great for a couple who is a little country and a bit of rock'n'roll.

NOMAD HOTEL INSIDE PARK MGM

I will start with a selfish statement and say please book us if you book here! We really want to do more weddings here because.. Wow what a hidden gem this is! And honestly I doubt it will stay a secret long. The Nomad Hotel is a new addition to the Strip, a hotel inside a hotel at Park MGM. It is classy with it's own eclectic character. We were lucky enough to do a small ceremony in the Salon and Parlor event space. The walls are filled with books, the wood bars, decor, and the green velvet seats ooze sophistication. It seems they are beginning to offer weddings in numerous venues and they look stunning.

A large white room setup for a wedding with white walls, detailed ceiling with a candle chandelier, wainscoting, the walls are lined with book shelves, and bust statues above the book shelves. Classic carpets with red tones, down the aisle in a set of closed black doors. The chairs are a variety of shapes and colors, with a gift bag on each chair.

BROOKLYN BOWL AT THE LINQ PROMENADE

Music. Food. Booze. And Bowling. Brooklyn Bowl is one of the coolest music venues in Las Vegas. Who wouldn't want to tie the knot here?! It is in the heart of the Strip right beneath the High Roller ferris wheel. It has a really awesome urban New York vibe with lots of industrial elements like brick walls and exposed beams. With a great atmosphere and entertainment built in with the bowling alleys, you can really throw a curve ball with this unique place that wedding guests would be talking about for years to come.
